The Magnetic Opera Festival returns to the Island of Elba from 4 July, with events organized by the Maggyart Association and now in its sixth edition. It will be a "special edition", redesigned to comply with the regulations issued following the Covid-19 emergency, but no less engaging and charming.
The concert venues will change: the protagonists this year will be the scenic Torre della Linguella in Portoferraio, a fortress built directly on the rocks in 1550, and the piazza of Porto Azzurro, overlooking the sea. The events are scheduled until July 21, all with free admission, a gift to citizens and tourists after these difficult months.
The Festival will start on July 4 at 10 pm in the piazza of Porto Azzurro with a performance by Italian Harmonists: composed of four tenors (Andrea Semeraro, Giorgio Tiboni, Luca Di Gioia, Michele Mauro), on bass (Sandro Chiri) and pianist (Jader Costa).
On 6 July at 10 pm at the Torre della Linguella in Portoferraio it will be the turn of Matteo Brancaleoni, "the Italian crooner" who has performed over the years collaborated with names such as Michael Bublé, Renzo Arbore, Fiorello and Stefano Bollani. Performing together with the Italian Swing Band, the jazz and swing concert will feature tributes to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nicola Arigliano.
On 11 July at 10 pm, Le Div4s will perform in the piazza of Porto Azzurro. A vocal group formed by four young sopranos, the Maestro Davide Dellisanti will be on the piano. After making their debut in 2008 alongside Andrea Bocelli, the Div4s have pursued their idea of spreading the excellence of Italian music to an audience not only of classical enthusiasts, but also to a younger and wider audience.
On 15 July at 10 pm the Torre della Linguella in Portoferraio will be Duo Baldo & Maria Luigia Borsi: soprano (Maria Luigia Borsi), violinist (Brad Repp) and pianist (Aldo Gentileschi) perform with a fireworks display, a real encounter between music and entertainment.
Finally, the Magnetic Opera Festival could only end with a great tribute to the opera: on the 20th (in the Piazza di Porto Azzurro) and on the 21st July (at the Torre della Linguella in Portoferraio) a grand opera gala will be conducted by Maestro Stefano Giaroli with the extraordinary participation of the Elban tenor Marco Ciaponi, who will reproduce all the arias of the works presented in the first five years of the Festival. The cast will consist of six soloists: Renata Campanella soprano, Claudia Marchi mezzo-soprano, Diego Cavazzin tenor, Marzio Giossi baritone, Massimiliano Catellani bass, accompanied by the Cantieri D’Arte Symphony Orchestra.
