The Monte Amiata area cited by Dante Alighieri in the 6th canto of Purgatory, part of the Divine Comedy, celebrates the great Tuscan poet with an event that brings together art, music and poetry.
On August 12, 14 and 17, the Abbey of San Salvatore, in Abbadia San Salvatore, is hosting the Dante Festival, with readings of the Divine Comedy alongside contemporary artworks by the artist Andrea Granchi. All the readings will be accompanied by clarinet music by Daniele Fabbrini, Pier Paolo Romani and Elia Gonnella.
- Monday, August 12, at 5.30pm: the 15th canto of Inferno by Professor Massimo Seriacopi.
- Wednesday, August 14, at 5.30pm: the 19th canto of Inferno by Professor Massimo Seriacopi.
- Saturday, August 17, at 5.30pm: the 20th canto of Inferno by Professor Simone Barlettai.
The actress Paola Lambardi will conduct the readings.
