The first day we will explore Volterra on a guided tour: while walking along the narrow streets of the historic center you will have the opportunity to discover Piazza dei Priori, the Roman Theater and the famous Porta all'Arco, and more. We will reach a panoramic point with spectacular views of the hills around the city and the so-called "Balze". In the afternoon we will visit a typical workshop where alabaster is still processed today and you'll take part in an active workshop, to learn the techniques of working this extraordinary stone.
The second day we will move to Larderello, south of Volterra, in the area of the Metalliferous Hills, the "cradle" of geothermal energy in Tuscany. The day's program includes a hike in the Devil's Valley, between fumaroles and "putizze", a lunch in a geothermal brewery, which uses the energy of these areas to give life to its products, and a visit to the Geothermal Museum.
Finally, on the third day, we will reach San Gimignano by e-bike, the Manhattan of the Middle Ages, immersed in the splendid hills of the Valdelsa. You will have free time to explore the city, and then return to Volterra, still riding a comfortable electric bike.
