Tasting and food

A path through history, art and culture with tasting of organic wines, cold cuts and bruschetta

For a thousand years the Abbey has been a place of research, hospitality and meditation where food, wine, nature and culture come together. This is where the wines, flavors and suggestions of Badia a Coltibuono originate.

“Cultus Boni”, the original latin name of the abbey, embodies the different meaning that make up the DNA of this place. Culture of the earth, of the spirit, and of good taste. A thousand years ago the Vallombrosan monks revolutionized agri-culture and made Badia a Coltibuono into one of the cradles of Chianti and one of the first places where Sangioveto grapes where introduced. Secularized after Napoleon annexed Tuscan in 1810, it was acquired by Michele Giuntini, ancestor of today’s owners. The Stucchi Prinetti family, inspired from the history and spirit of the monastery, transformed it into a modern center for the culture of food, wine and sustainable practices.

The program of this tour includes the visit of the abbey and the tasting of four wines, accompanied by a selection of three typical Tuscan cold cuts and bruschetta with organic extra virgin olive oil.
