Vallombrosa, the wood of the monks

We will walk the beautiful circuit of chapels in the silence of the woods of the Reserve. We will admire the extraordinary view from the Paradisino, and we will visit places such as John Gualbert's Spring, the cross of the plague and the devil's rock. We will marvel at the monumental kitchens of the Abbey, and we will see lesser-known places such as Acquabella Castle for a complete natural history experience, in the mysticism of the Monaci forest.

Curiosity:
The Paradisino is a place linked to the beginnings of monastic life at Vallombosa, when it was the hermitage of monks particularly eager for solitude and intimacy with God. Today it is a teaching site for students of Forestry science of the University of Florence.

• Difficulty: easy hiking
• Height difference: 400 meters positive
• Route type: loop, scenic, historical and naturalistic interests
• The tour will be conducted upon reaching a minimum of eight individual participants or private group
