Trekking: eight days in the Garfagnana nature

The Garfagnana, on the apuan and apennine slopes, is crossed by a dense network of trails. This makes it possible to reach the most suggestive places of the Apuan Alps and the apennine ridge, starting from the towns located at higher altitudes of the valley.

A territory that offers splendid and varied opportunities for trekking enthusiasts.

The natural heritage, the enchanting sceneries and villages rich in history and tradition make the routes varied and interesting. The itineraries generally run on old mule tracks and easily accessible paths also marked by CAI (the senior Italian alpine club which stages climbing competitions). 

For some stages or sections of the stage where the route can present some difficulties, are indicated variants of the path, that result in more comfortable and easier.

In this adventure, you will immerse yourself in the history, nature and traditions of Garfagnana, a fantastic land. Here is a summary of the program:

• The first day tour of Castelnuovo and typical "garfagnina" dinner
  
• On the second day, we will walk the Via del Volto Santo together
  
• On the third day, starting from the village of San Pellegrino in Alpe, we will reach the ridge until the Burigone refuge
• The fourth-day excursion to Mount Rovaio
• On the fifth day, we will visit Vagli di Sotto, the oasis of Campocatino and the Vagli Lake
• The sixth day we will spend it among rocks, fortresses and hermitages
• On the last day, we will reach the Pania di Corfino
