The secrets of the Temple
Discover one of the most stunning and mysterious places of Tuscany in the territory of Palaia, Pisa area
An unforgettable experience in one of the most evocative places in Tuscany. Hidden by a small oak grove, the Temple of Minerva Medica in Montefoscoli is an example of neoclassical architecture, built in 1823. This monument was built by Andrea Vaccà Berlinghieri in memory of his father who, together with his wife Sophie Caudeiron, were among the protagonists of some of the most important pages of Italian and European history in the Napoleonic era.
After a short walk, with views over the valleys of the hills of Palaia, you reach an ancient and wild oak grove that protects the Temple from prying eyes.
This structure is a shining example of neoclassical architecture from the early 19th century, rich in architectural and decorative details that recall the past through myths and legends.
The daily visits are made with compulsory reservation at the addresses you find in this offer.
Freemasonry, esotericism, mysteries and ancient myths are the ingredients of its story.
