Small group Chianti and castles wine tour from Siena
Wine tastings and lunch in a farm with typical Tuscan products, including visits to Castello di Brolio and Radda in Chianti
Explore the hills once contended between Siena and Florence, a landscape of woodlands, vineyards and olive groves dotted with medieval hamlets and castles. Enjoy tours and tastings in the wineries to learn about the famous Black Rooster Chianti wine and a lunch in a farm.
You'll meet your english speaking tour Guide in front of the church of San Domenico in Siena at 9:30 am, easy to find even if you are arriving from out of town with your own car, as there is a parking nearby.
Get ready to travel north-east into the Chianti hills, an area rich with dense oak wood forests and cypress trees, neat rows of vineyards and olive groves, landscapes shaped into works of art by the combined action of nature and man. Our first stop is below the imposing walls of Castello di Brolio, where you can walk the vineyards and have a look at the soil and vines. We'll visit the castle gardens, learn about history of the area and enjoy a first tasting of the Black Rooster Chianti Classico wine.
Later on, we'll stop in the fortified hilltop town of Radda in Chianti, admire the ancient architecture and browse local shops. A traditional Tuscan lunch of local products will be served at a Chianti estate accompanied by a tasting of the farm’s wines.
After lunch, we'll visit a second winery where the local producer will show us around the estate, that has remained in the same family for many generations. To follow, a visit to the old cellars to learn everything about traditional wine making, farm work and lifestyle that characterize the "Chianti folk". Last but not least, we'll sit down and relax to taste some great Chianti wines.
