Discovering Camugliano: a holiday among history, nature, and Tuscan charm
Guided visit to an authentic, timeless place where history, elegance, and nature exist in perfect harmony
We will walk through centuries-old oak trees, striking landscapes, and places that tell the story of centuries of Tuscan life, where the history of the region is intertwined with that of the Niccolini family and the local community that has lived and worked here for generations.
The route leads through areas that were once essential to the life of the estate, such as the ancient ice house and the traditional “burraia,” hidden in the shade of large holm oaks, where butter was produced according to old rural customs.
We then continue through the spaces dedicated to historic agricultural activities – the silk workshop, the carpentry with its small forge, and the atmospheric wine vat room – all the way to the historic underground cellars, the beating heart of the winemaking tradition, where vinification still takes place today.
The visit concludes with the imposing stables and large granaries, testimony to a rural past that is still alive and carefully preserved by the owners with dedication and respect, so that it can be passed on to future generations.
The Tenuta di Camugliano is something truly special: it is one of the most important historic estates in the area and has been owned since 1637 by the noble Florentine Niccolini family. Over the centuries, the estate has been carefully preserved with great passion and respect by its owners, managing to maintain its harmonious character intact to this day. The result is a rare balance between tradition and modernity, where the past is not only preserved but still lived today.
