An itinerary focused on the southern part of the Piombino promontory, a fascinating coastal area jutting out toward the island of Elba. The arm of sea (Piombino Channel) separating the coast from the island is 9.5 km wide.
Panoramic views of the island of Elba, the small islets of Palmaiola and Cèrboli and the coves at the foot of the promontory will be the theme of our trek.
From the characteristic Cala Moresca we will walk toward the woods of the Promontory to arrive at our first morning destination, this is the cove of Fosso alle Canne, where we will take a break.
We will then head to the beautiful Long Beach, where we will have time to enjoy the views and regenerate with a picnic lunch by the sea.
After that we will take the southern part of the via dei Cavalleggeri destination Punta Falcone, a naturalistic area of particular value with its rock formed by pillow lava, birdlife and its strategic position that has resulted in its important historical legacy.
The highlights we will visit in this proposal:
- Moresca Cove
- San Quirico Cove
- Fosso alle Canne Cove
- Spiaggia Lunga Cove
- Cavalleggeri Way and Punta Falcone
- The views of the adjacent islands
The tour will take place on Sunday, October 16.
