Festambiente, the national eco-festival organized by Legambiente, takes place every year in August in Rispescia (Grosseto), at the gateway to the Park of the Maremma, amid a true ecological fortress: for ten days it plays host to debates on environmental themes, music, cinema, performances and discussions of healthy diets.
On the program are plenty of concerts by Italian and international artists, film screenings, theatrical performances and meetings on themes including nature conservation, the circular economy, eco-tourism, the fight against the mafia, and sustainable mobility.
Organic food is also at the center of Festambiente, with tastings of traditional dishes and kilometer0 restaurants and food points offering traditional products from the Maremma.
Central to everything is the idea of environmental sustainability and energy saving: all of the materials used are eco-friendly; water is served exclusively in pitchers and 90 percent of the trash produced is recyclable.
