Music, theater, food and guided tours in the historic district of Livorno

Effetto Venezia (the Venetian Effect) is an event that for almost 40 years now has been synonymous with summer in Livorno and involves the Venice neighborhood, famous for its historic bridges and navigable Medici canals, an ideal stage for music shows, theater, installations, street animation, light shows and markets.

The program of the initiative offers something more with each new edition: musical and theatrical events, food and wine culture, exhibitions, sports events and workshops for children. Over the years, many artists have taken turns on the stages of Effetto Venezia, including Carmen, Federica Carta, Bobo Rondelli, Snaporaz, Sinfonico Honolulu and BFolks.

Effetto Venezia is also the right occasion to taste the typical dishes of the area: the cacciucco (strictly with 5 c's), first courses made with fresh fish, chickpea cake, and, to finish, a ponce alla livornese.

The 2024 edition - “La musica dal mondo – Suoni di terra e di mare” (Music from the World - Sounds of Land and Sea) - will take place from July 31 to August 4, with the new artistic direction entrusted to singer-songwriter Grazia de Michele.
An international edition, with artists from various cultures and Italian artists who have made contamination their stylistic signature. Coming to Livorno, among others: Noa, Tunisian artist Ziad Trabelsi & Carthage Mosaik, Eugenio Bennato.
