Carrara, the city of marble par excellence, has always catalyzed the attention of national and international artists, for the value of the marble of the Apuan Alps, the expertise of the workers in the city, the excellence of the artisan workshops.
For the past several years, its history, culture and excellence have been infused with additional life and modernity by White Carrara, the festival that celebrates the Made in Italy design and exalts the city and territory as an ever-evolving creative hotbed, involving the entire historic center, with sculptures, installations and events dedicated to sculpture in all its forms, to photography, film and other art forms.
The 2026 edition will be held from June 5 to August 30.
The chosen theme marks an important transition: following the reflections on Italian design and contemporary planning of the previous editions, White Carrara becomes a permanent widespread project. In fact, many of the works created will remain in the territory, helping to construct a new urban geography and rendering the city itself a museum, a laboratory and a space for connections.
The pathway involves some 30 international designers called upon to interpret marble as a contemporary material, one with identity and able to dialog with the needs of the city.
