Classica 2025

“Classica” is the summer music festival held between Montaione and Gambassi Terme, with six appointments on Sunday afternoons together with the Orchestra della Toscana Chamber Groups.

The first three concerts, at around sunset, will be held in the striking Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta a Chianni in Gambassi, a splendid testimony to the Pisan-Romanesque style. 

Attention then turns to a sacred place that has stood in the hills of the Montaione area since the 14ᵗʰ century: the “Jerusalem of San Vivaldo” museum complex, admired by scholars and art historians, as one of the most significant examples of the reproduction of the places of the Holy Land in the West, for the purpose of substitute pilgrimage. This complex of chapels and small temples arises in a wooded area in accordance with an order that reproduces to scale the exact layout of Jerusalem at the time.

Concerts in San Vivaldo:

• July 6
  Wind Quintet with opera arias and music by Berio, Rota, Puccini and Verdi
• July 13
  Charm of Madrid and String Quintet, with music by Boccherini
• July 20
  Appointment dedicated to Rossini, with his music performed by the String Quartet

The concerts commence at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of the Fuga in Egitto of the “Jerusalem of San Vivaldo” museum complex in Montaione. Admission is free.
