The calendar of hikes on the historic trails of Lamporecchio and Montalbano for the month of June

With the start of the summer season, the hikes and guided tours of the initiative Camminando il Montalbano (Walking the Montalbano) return.

The walks resume with weekly appointments in groups of up to 30 people, upon reservation. All guided tours are free of charge and are given in both Italian and English by the environmental guide Michela Del Negro. 

The calendar:

  • June 6, 9 a.m.
    After a visit to the church and the impressive Romanesque crypt of San Baronto, the walk will take place partially on the ridge trail immersed in chestnut and pine forests to discover some of the most beautiful views and then head back to the town of San Baronto with a loop trail.
  • June 14, 9 a.m.
    The hike will start from the Church of Castelmartini (Larciano) and then head to the Porto delle Morette and the path through the marsh basin (it is advisable to bring binoculars for observing the fauna and flora of the nature reserve). A visit to the Intrecci center to watch the processing of marsh grasses is planned during the walk.
  • June 20, 5 p.m.
    Starting from the church of Santa Maria del Pruno in Orbignano, the itinerary will continue through Tigliano, the Ferrale olive-oil mill and then arrive near Vinci and return to the starting point.
  • June 27, 5 p.m.
    The walk will begin in Lamporecchio to then cross the Park to Spicchio, since the 15th century the organizational center of the Rospigliosi family estate.
