La Città dei Lettori

From June 3 to 7, Florence hosts La Città dei Lettori (The City of Readers), the literature festival that brings to the city events, readings, talks and presentations with great authors, first-time novelists and leading figures on the contemporary cultural scene.

The opening event will be held on June 3 at the Teatro della Pergola with Emmanuel Carrère, selected to open the 9ᵗʰ edition. 
Subsequent events will continue until June 7 in the panoramic setting of Villa Bardini.

The festival, free upon reservation, offers 40 events with 75 guests. 
Finalists of the Strega Prize are also expected to be among the protagonists, with events devoted to cross-cutting themes such as Pinocchio on the 200ᵗʰ anniversary of Collodi’s birth plus sport and the 1966 Florence flood.
