Summer in Lucignano has its own rhythm. It begins outdoors, in lively squares and along streets that take on a different atmosphere after sunset, becoming a place for dinner, music, conversation and experiences to discover as you wander through the village.
With “Di Giovedì - Sere d’estate a Lucignano”, the town comes alive each week with a programme designed for both residents and visitors. From 9 to 30 July, every Thursday evening offers a different way to experience Lucignano: more vibrant, more welcoming and full of surprises.
The series opens on Thursday 9 July at 6:30 pm with Notte di Fuoco, an opening night of fire, drums and flag-waving performances. The evening also marks the launch of “A village alive and welcoming all year round”, an initiative offering Lucignano residents free admission to MAD, the Museum of the Golden Tree, during the museum’s centenary year.
On 16 July, Luci Park - Borgo dei Giochi turns the historic centre into a playful setting with attractions, games and entertainment designed for families and children.
Jazz & Wine takes place on 23 July, bringing together live jazz and the area’s food and wine excellence, with music, tastings and Lucignano’s intimate evening atmosphere.
The programme concludes on 30 July with Secret Garden Picnic, an outdoor gathering in Piazza del Tribunale, featuring picnic baskets and evocative corners in the heart of the village. The celebrations continue on Friday 31 July with Gin & BBQ, a reservation-only evening.
Across all events, one idea remains at the heart of the festival: experiencing the village itself. Street food, live music, local specialities, food trucks and roaming performances fill the streets of the historic centre, inviting visitors to stop for dinner, listen to music and enjoy Lucignano at an unhurried pace.
More than a series of events, “Di Giovedì” is a chance to step into the character of the town. With its distinctive elliptical layout, intimate squares and concentric streets, Lucignano becomes an open stage where local life and summer celebration come together.
“Di Giovedì” is an invitation to stroll through the village, sit down for dinner outdoors, catch a performance, follow the music and enjoy the easy social atmosphere that makes July evenings in Tuscany so special.

Finding the Golden Tree
Just a short walk from the “Di Giovedì” events, Lucignano’s Civic Museum holds one of Valdichiana Aretina’s most remarkable treasures: the Golden Tree, an extraordinary medieval reliquary also known as the Tree of Life.
It is an ideal stop before dinner or between events. During the centenary year of MAD, the Museum of the Golden Tree, it becomes a chance to discover one of the village’s most meaningful stories.
Exploring without a map
Lucignano is one of those villages best discovered without a fixed route. Its concentric streets follow an elliptical layout and naturally lead towards Piazza del Tribunale, the heart of the town.
Between live music and a glass of wine, take one of the side streets and look out for arches, intimate corners and small squares that can easily go unnoticed during the day. In the evening, when the village is lit up and full of life, Lucignano reveals a completely different side of itself.
