FROM 5 TO 7 JUNE, THE WIDESPREAD FESTIVAL DEDICATED TO “SECRET IDENTITIES”
From June 5 to 7, 2026, Cortona Comics returns—an expansive festival that transforms the historic town centre into a fully immersive celebration of comics, live entertainment, gaming, and pop culture.
The theme of the 2026 edition, “Secret Identities,” draws inspiration from Tony Pitony’s concert, taking place on Friday at the Santi Tiezzi Municipal Stadium, and from the exhibition “PK – Behind the Mask,” hosted in the Cloister of Sant’Agostino. A unifying concept that invites visitors to explore transformation and identity through a range of creative languages.
Among the key cultural highlights are “PK – Behind the Mask,” curated by Max Monteduro, and “Many Identities. One Pencil,” a solo exhibition by Alessandro Bocci at the MAEC. Throughout the town centre, “Diffuse Identities” will unfold as a site-specific exhibition displayed in shop windows.
The festival extends across several key locations: Piazza Signorelli, devoted to live performances and entertainment; Piazza Garibaldi, home to a curated food area and a themed market dedicated to comics and pop culture; and Piazza della Repubblica, offering interactive and creative activities for all ages. The Cloister of Sant’Agostino will host an expansive Artist Alley, featuring over 30 Italian artists—including Giuseppe Camuncoli, Claudio Sciarrone, Corrado Mastantuono, and many others—who will be present for signings, meet-and-greets, and live commissions.
The programme also includes workshops, masterclasses, a self-publishing hub, comic schools, and a dedicated retrogaming area. New for this edition is a large esports and gaming zone, open to all and featuring competitive tournaments. At Palazzo Ferretti, a dedicated Star Wars area will showcase exhibitions, live performances, and staged combat demonstrations. Additional spaces will highlight emerging talent and creative activities, including LEGO Education.
Access to all public areas is free of charge, while selected activities and experiences are available via a daily wristband or full-event pass. Cortona Comics is organised by Cortona Sviluppo in partnership with the Municipality of Cortona.
