Weavers for a day

"La Tela di Penelope" is a social cooperative focused on job placement. Its unique feature is the use of 19th-century looms from the former Maggiano Psychiatric Hospital for its textile production.

You will have the opportunity to "roll up your sleeves" and work like the ancient weavers, for a few minutes, under the supervision of the cooperative's operators. 

The experience begins with a brief explanation of the weaving process, including the design conception, material selection, and assembly on the warp and loom. Then, you will get hands-on experience using treadles, shuttle, and subbio in the correct order.

• Comfortable footwear is recommended.
• The indicated price is valid for one person (a minimum of 2 persons is required).
