Heritage train in Tuscany
A journey back in time by historic train from Arezzo to reach the Maggiolata Lucignanese, a flower festival in Valdichiana
Lucignano, awarded the Touring Club's Orange Flag, is nestled in the Tuscan countryside of the Valdichiana. The town represents one of the most interesting examples of a medieval urban village, with its elliptical layout of concentric rings. The Municipal Museum houses the Golden Tree, one of the greatest masterpieces of Italian goldsmithing.
The Maggiolata Lucignanese is its main festival, celebrated on the last Sunday of May. It is a historic flower festival celebrating spring, featuring parades of flower-covered floats (primarily of carnations), music, folk bands from all over Italy, and a competition among the districts for the most beautiful float.
The journey is scheduled for Sunday 31th May 2026.
