Villa Petrea is a historical Villa which was built in the 18th century by a noble Florentine family for hunting. Completely stone built in leopoldine style and featuring two eye-catching towers. Villa Petrea is situated at the top of a hill and its elegance compliments the surroundings. The villa has breath taking views of the typical Tuscan countryside, nearby there is the local village “Bucine” and not so far away you can reach the beautiful Chianti hills. The surrounding garden is complimented by its beautiful natural green grass and century old Cypress and Olive trees.
Grounds
The fenced-in yard has a swimming pool (7 x 14m, 1-1/2 m deep; 22' x 57', 5' deep) with lights, outshide shower, BBQ, large gazebo, putting green, and near the poool, a 6-person hot tub and a relax area.
In the woods around the property, one finds trails e back roads, suitable for walking or bicycling.
The house
First floor. From a large entry area one comes tot he centra living area and breakfast nook. It opens to the right on a sitting room wtih access tot he side yard and pool, to the left one finds the kitchen, with access to the yard.
From the entry, to the right, there is a master bedroom with private bath with shower and to the left another master bedroom with a handicapped-accessible private bath.
A large staircase to the left takes you to the second floor.
Second floor. A large landing leads to the sitting room which leads to five bedrooms. One has a queen-sized bed with a loft equiped with two sofa beds and a private bath with shower; two bedrooms have queen-sized beds wtih private baths with showers; there are also two triple bedrooms with private baths with showers.
Tower
From the 2nd-floor landing, a spiral staircase leads to the bedroom in the tower, with its own bath with shower.
The area
Villa Petres is in a key location in the Val d'Ambra, in the heart of Tuscany. It's the perfect departure point for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Trails and back roads which depart directly from the Villa take you, in a few minutes on foot, to the forested aeras and unforgetable rural views...
For fans of two-wheelers, from bicycles to motorcycles, it's the perfect location, with a large selection of routes of varying degrees of difficulty.
After taking in nature's splendors, there's the area's food and wine - the best combination. It's impossible to pass up the Chianti region, where highly-regarded wines are producted and one can visit wineries, vinyards and tasting rooms, all while sampling traditional Tuscan cuisine.
It's impossible to be in these parts and forget history which is brought to life in medieval villages such as Gaiole in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Greve, Radda and Volpars. From Villa Petrea, art lovers can visit the most famous and fascinating Tuscan cities. In a straight ine from Villa Petrea one finds Florence (55km; 33 miles), Siena (44 km, 26 miles), and Arezzo (35km, 21 miles). Also near by are typical towns, rich in history, such as Monte San Savino (25 km, 15 miles) and last but not least,Lucca (132km, 82miles) and Pisa (142km, 88miles).
