After a few more bends, with even more breathtaking views over Florence and a final gradient of 7%, you reach Fiesole. This picturesque town with Etruscan and Roman origins is situated at 294 metres above sea level.
In Fiesole, learn about the past at the Roman Amphitheatre and the archaeological area at the Convent of San Francesco, or savour the slow pace of the hilltop town.
Continuing on our route, take the road behind the archaeological area in the direction of Pian del Mugnone. Before leaving Fiesole, you will catch a glimpse of a section of the ancient Etruscan city walls. The road down is fairly steep, surrounded by Tuscan countryside.
