Cycling through nature and history in Mugello

The itinerary, which has great scenic value, is 38 kilometers (23.6 miles) long overall, with an elevation gain of nearly 500 meters, and is suitable for everyone. The hilly route crosses the foothills of Mugello, with spectacular views, especially in the stretch between San Giovanni and Galliano, and also passes through Scarperia, a beautiful medieval village, to the convent of Bosco ai Frati, which contains a very precious crucifix attributed to Donatello. Also nearby, there are the Medici villas of Cafaggiolo and Trebbio.

There are no significant uphill stretches and the steep sections never exceed 500 meters in length, with gradients that can range from 3 to 7-8%.
