On Saturday, May 18, Vinci hosts the “Festa del Volo” (“Festival of Flight”), a family-friendly event inspired by Leonardo’s genius and his pioneering vision of flight.
Throughout the day there will be:
- Displays of vintage helicopters and aircraft
A unique opportunity to take a close look at extraordinary flying machines that have made aviation history - Panoramic flights over Vinci
To admire the Tuscan landscape from above, like you’ve never seen it before - Model airplanes
A mix of demonstrations and small mechanical masterpieces that really fly - A display of aviation memorabilia
A fascinating journey through objects, instruments and historical records from the world of flight - A Visit with the Director
Roberta Barsanti, Director of the Leonardiano Museum, will guide visitors to discover the most fascinating items in the collection in the section dedicated to flight – from the famous flying sphere to aerial navigation instruments, this tour offers a unique look at Leonardo’s visions and the origins of the Museum’s collection
