A festival between dream and legend
From Friday, October 6 to Sunday, October 8, the village of Castelnuovo D'Elsa will host the annual festival "Via Francigena in Valdelsa" celebrating the Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage route still traveled by thousands of wayfarers and not only.
A calendar full of proposals that will transport participants into an atmosphere "Between dream and legend": theater to dream, shows to dispel fears of the past, itineraries on foot, horseback and e-bike to discover and rediscover the local Francigena. Also, sunset itineraries, routes that can be traveled by joelette, art trails, poetry, playgrounds and... pilgrim delicacies!
A dedicated photo contest will also be held in conjunction; new or past shots are allowed, as long as they are related to the stretch of the Francigena connecting Gambassi Terme to San Miniato. It will be enough to upload them to Instagram and insert the tags #visitcastelfiorentino and #viafrancigenainvaldelsa2023.
