Taking to the stage on Saturday, February 28 at 6:00 pm in the impressive Sala Ildebrando within the Abbadia Isola -Monteriggioni monument and museum complex is Something About Maggie, a concert narrated by music and civic engagement.
Told through words and notes is the story of the protests of workers—particularly miners—during Margaret Thatcher’s rule over British society. Sharing the account will Antonio Bacciocchi, a leading figure on the Italian mod scene, joined by Ratoblanco.
The repertoire runs through songs and atmospheres by The Clash, The Jam, The Style Council, Elvis Costello, Redskins and The Specials, with iconic pieces such as This Is England, Concrete Jungle and Town Called Malice. The narrative will be exalted by images, covers and photographs from the period.
Bacciocchi, a drummer, DJ, producer and writer, has worked with bands such as Not Moving and Link Quartet, sharing the stage with the likes of Johnny Thunders.
The cost of the evening is €15 and includes a buffet and nightcap in the rooms of BarMaM, the Archaeological Museum’s bar.
