From Monteriggioni to Siena along the Via Francigena
Sunday, April 19, sees the return of this year’s edition of Pellegrino per 1 Giorno (Pilgrim for 1 Day), an immersive trekking experience along the section of the Via Francigena going from Monteriggioni to Siena, one of the most fascinating extents along the entire route.
The approximately 14-mile/22-kilometer route winds along the ancient pilgrims’ way, crossing hills, paths immersed in the Sienese countryside and unforgettable panoramic views.
Along the walk, participants will be involved in evocative moments of entertainment with paraders in medieval costume, rendering the experience even more interesting.
The program includes:
- 8:25 am - Departure from Piazza Gramsci, Siena, by private bus.
- 9:00 am - Start the walk from the Monteriggioni Castle
- Circa 1:00 pm - Refreshment stop in the locality of Osteriaccia
- Circa 5:00 pm - Arrive in Piazza Duomo in Siena
The participation fee is 18 euro and includes: bus transfer from Siena to Monteriggioni, roadmap of the route, entertainment along the walk and refreshments.
