Montelupo Fiorentino is preparing to experience a completely revamped edition of the event dedicated to the area's ceramics tradition and in 2025 it will be part of the Christmas season, transforming the city center into a large open-air museum, enlivened by lights, exhibitions, installations and activities for all ages.
In fact, Cèramica 2025 will be taking place from December 6 to 21, for three consecutive weekends, combining art, ceramics and a Christmas atmosphere.
The streets and squares of the historic center will be lit up by artistic installations, architectural projections and decorations inspired by patterns based on Montelupo ceramics. A large Christmas tree will be placed in Piazza dell’Unione Europea, while Piazza della Libertà will be the location for the iconic ceramic tree, made from about 200 locally-manufactured plates.
The idea is to turn the city center into an art gallery, with open workshops and ateliers and currently unused spaces in the town center set up to host installations and solo exhibitions. This will also include focus on glass, another typical product made in the area.
The program includes a full schedule of exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops and artist residencies, which will be taking place in public spaces and with private funding granted for the occasion.
Among the main events:
There will be no shortage of traveling shows, street bands and artistic performances that will bring the town streets to life, making the event an engaging experience for citizens and visitors alike.
Among the novelties, there is an event within the event: an evening dedicated to the presentation of local wines, promoted in collaboration with local producers.
