La Valle dei Presepi

Returning this year to accompany the Christmas traditions in the Mid Serchio Valley is La Valle dei Presepi (The Valley of Nativity Scenes), an initiative seeing the valley peppered with nativity scenes, beloved by citizens and visitors alike.

The main players in the initiative are, as per tradition, the associations, committees and citizens to have cultivated and carried on the tradition of nativity scenes with passion and dedication to this day.

The inauguration of this 9ᵗʰ edition will be held on Sunday, November 30 at 3:30 pm at Ghivizzano Castello, in the municipality of Coreglia Antelminelli, as part of the event “Accendiamo il Natale” organized by the Comitato Ghivizzano Castello. For the occasion, the day will be enlivened by Christmas markets and much more.

To bolster the event of La Valle dei Presepi, between November 30 and January 6, a full calendar of activities is planned to cheer in Christmas in the Mid Valley, along with the plethora of nativity scenes set up throughout the area. Also present in the program is a section dedicated to proposals for itineraries, recommending routes that combine visits to see several mangers in a single day while taking part in initiatives being held in various municipalities. 

The festival will conclude on January 6, with the arrival of La Befana, a witchy old lady who brings gifts to children, another great tradition par excellence for the area.
