Milan-Cortina Olympic Torch Relay in Massa

A truly meaningful sporting event

On Friday, January 9, Massa will also welcome the passing of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Flame, an event of great sporting and symbolic value that has its roots in ancient Greece, where the sacred fire burned for the duration of the Games.

Before the flame departs, scheduled for 9:09 am, a short ceremony is will be held in the presence of the local authorities.

The official route will include the torchbearer’s departure from Piazza IV Novembre at 9:09 am then continue on Viale Stazione, Via Chiesa, Via Angelini, Viale Trieste, Via X Aprile and Via Maternità before reaching its destination on Via Benedetto Croce at 9:44 am.

In Tuscany, the Olympic Flame has already traveled the streets of Arezzo, Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Grosseto, Volterra, San Gimignano, Pontedera, Empoli, Florence, Prato, Montecatini Terme, Pisa, Pistoia, Lucca, and Livorno. After the city of Massa, the flame will head to Carrara and from there, continue its journey to Liguria until reaching the San Siro Stadium in Milan on February 6 as part of the opening ceremony.
