On Sunday, June 8, the Historical Reenactment returns, as the event created as a true garden festival, with the aim of inviting the public on a discovery of the incredible historical, artistic, botanical and landscape richness.
For the occasion, the Associazione Napoleone ed Elisa: da Parigi alla Toscana will present Le Delizie dell’Estate di Elisa (The Delights of Elisa’s Summer), for a real dive into the glorious past of Villa Reale in the years when Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi, Napoleon’s older sister and Princess of Lucca and Piombino, bought the country villa of the Orsetti clan and transformed the property into her royal summer residence.
On June 8, from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm, relive the events of 1810 when Elisa, Grand Duchess of Tuscany, spent the summer here with a group of talented guests to keep her and her family company.
Visitors will have the chance to meet Elisa, her husband Felice Baciocchi and their young daughter Elisa Napoleona, along with several renowned historical reenactors. More than 50 figures from Italy and around the world will be dressed in Napoleonic garments, historically recalling 1810.
On this day, Marlia will resonate with the joy and laughter echoing from 200 years ago, when this was an oasis of pleasure and tranquility during Tuscan summers.
On this day, visitors are not permitted to attend the event in period dress.
