A "Forest Bath" is now considered one of the cornerstones of preventive medicine,
This course aims to respond to the growing demand for knowledge, manifesting itself in the theme of Forest Bathing aimed at psycho-physical well-being.
Through this course, our network intends to provide scientific information and propose a model for the use of forests aimed at psycho-physical well-being, useful for those who feel the need to regenerate themselves through nature and to develop a profitable relationship between the population of the cities and the surrounding forests. As a result, this relationship will go beyond psychophysical regeneration, it will also develop a relationship of care for the forest in a dynamic of reciprocal exchange.
The high scientific profile and the speakers' many years of experience will undoubtedly provide excellent tools for participants and shed light on methods for the best therapeutic uses of forests. The Florentine Mountain Ecomuseum in collaboration with TeFFIt (forestry therapies in Italian forests) and in agreement with the UNITUS Viterbo Mountain Sciences degree course, has developed a a series of outings that aim to "teach" the approach of Forestry Therapy and enable those wishing to repeat this practice independently, in a certified course created for the purpose. Participants will be involved in a 6-hour online course held by leaders and doctors preliminary to the activities; experiences in the forest that will introduce them to a healthy, fun and immersive discovery that will undoubtedly be both useful and significant.
The International Handbook of Forest Therapy describes immersion in the forest as a practice that helps people to come into mutual and beneficial contact with the forest, understood as a living ecosystem, and with the creatures that populate it. Immersion in the forest involves specific activities and attitudes, different from the usual ones, which allow participants to obtain both physical and psychological benefits and, at the same time, preserve the integrity of the forests. In fact, it has long been known that even contact with nature alone offers rapid regeneration, while the periodic frequentation of forests supports human health and well-being in a much more significant and prolonged way.
Therefore, it's something more, and different to a simple walk and a usual visit to forests.
