The exhibition at the Innocents Museum, dedicated to one of the most emblematic artists of the Belle Époque

From September 27, 2025 to February 22, 2026, the Innocents Museum in Florence will host an exhibition dedicated to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the great painter, illustrator and graphic innovator born in Alby, France, in 1864.

You will be able to admire more than 170 works by the French artist, partly from Hamburg and partly from the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Alby, in the halls of the ancient and prestigious Museum.

Toulouse-Lautrec was recognized as the artist capable of capturing the nightlife and bohemian spirit of Montmartre in Paris, with an ironic and profound angle, and he was also able to show the dark side behind that extravagant world. The artist certainly captured a period, a fashion, customs and types of people like few others were able to do, not only in his paintings but also in the posters he created for advertisements.

For this reason, the exhibition is not just a display of art but a true journey through time, achieved partly thanks to a rich array of photographs, videos, costumes and vintage furnishings that take visitors back to Paris in the period between 1880 and 1900.
