The Carnevale di Firenze (or, Florence Carnival) returns with 2 days of festivities across Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1.
The program is split into 2 distinct occasions.
The 1ˢᵗ comes on Saturday, January 31 with the Grand Ball of Florence, a gala evening in fancy dress, with proceeds going to charity.
The 2ⁿᵈ is the Grand Carnival Parade, scheduled for Sunday, February 1, as a collective event around the historic city center amid music, figures, masks and performances, leading up to the awarding of prizes for the best masks in an open, free and inclusive party atmosphere.
From 2:00 pm, gather in Piazza Santa Maria Novella for Aspettando il Carnevale (Awaiting the Carnevale).
At 3:30 pm, the Parade will set off from Piazza Santa Maria Novella, following the route: Piazza Santa Maria Novella, Via de’ Banchi, Via Barbadori, Via de’ Rondinelli, Via Tornabuoni, Lungarno degli Acciaioli, Por Santa Maria, Via Vacchereccia and Piazza della Signoria.
