Traditions and flavors in the Crete Senesi

From April 23 to 26, in the heart of the fascinating Crete Senesi, the hamlet of Chiusure welcomes you with one of the most authentic and anticipated events of spring: the Festa del Carciofo or Artichoke Festival.

This event represents much more than a simple festival, being a real journey into taste and into local tradition, a unique opportunity to discover and celebrate the famous artichoke of Chiusure, a symbolic product of the area and star ingredient in recipes handed down from generation to generation. 

Prepared with passion and care, the artichoke dishes tell the story of peasant cuisine, comprised of genuine flavors, seasonality and respect for the land.

Strolling through the charming streets of the village, visitors will be won over by the aromas of the food stands serving up local excellence and ingredients. Alongside the culinary offerings, the festival comes alive with handicraft markets, where you can find typical products, local artisan products and original ideas, perfect for taking home an authentic memento of your experience.

There is no shortage of entertainment for all ages, with live music and shows on each day of the event, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. For lovers of nature and slow tourism, excursions and guided walks to discover the Crete Senesi are also offered.
