Live nativity scene

The appointment with the Presepe Vivente—the live nativity scene—in Castiglion Fiorentino returns. To celebrate Christmas in 2025, as per tradition, the nativity scene will enliven the historic town center on Sunday, December 21 and on Boxing Day, December 26.

Setting out from Piazza San Francesco, explore the most beautiful and characteristic corners of Castiglion Fiorentino, breathing in the magical atmosphere that takes you back in time.  

Around 100 characters will bring to life the most evocative scenes of the period, with the work of artisans, shepherds and peasants, Herod’s palace, the Roman camp, the Wise Men, ancient crafts and old traditions, all the way to the Nativity stable.

Along the route, you can try the local Ciacce, mulled wine and chestnuts that will be available for purchase.
