In Carrara at 6:00 pm on Friday, April 17, MudaC (Museum of Arts in Carrara) hosts a performance by percussionist Massimiliano Furia, presenting DERMA, a sound project constructed through a direct relationship between skins, wood and metal, sans any electronic aid.
Conceived as an immersive and textural experience, DERMA explores evocative soundscapes and frequencies through instruments and surfaces in dialog with space and silence.
Sound thus emerges from an entirely acoustic practice, in which the only amplification is the environment that accommodates the performance, itself transformed into part of the listening experience.
The project takes form as an open and unrepeatable pathway, paved with gesture, movement and all else is generated in the moment.
What emerges is a continuous, unpredictable and profound flow of sound, in which different acoustic environments meet and transform, building an experience that combines performance dimensions and musical research.
The initiative is free of charge.
