Hiking the historic trails of Lamporecchio and Montalbano

With the arrival of summer, the Camminando il Montalbano walks and hikes return, a traditional appointment to discover and experience the beauty and history of the area in the tranquility of nature.

The walks will resume with weekly appointments in groups of up to 30 people with reservations. All guided tours are free and are given in both Italian and English by environmental guide Michela Del Negro.

The program

  • Thursday, June 8 at 5 p.m.
    From the church of Santa Maria del Pruno in Orbignano, the itinerary will continue through Tigliano, the Ferrale oil mill and then arrive near Vinci and return to the starting point.
  • Thursday, June 15 at 9 a.m.
    Departure from the Padule di Fucecchio Visitor Center in Castelmartini (Larciano) and then head to Porto delle Morette and the trail through the marsh basin. It is recommended to bring binoculars for observation of the fauna and flora of the nature reserve.
    The visit is held in collaboration with the Padule di Fucecchio RDP Center.
  • Thursday, June 22 at 5 p.m.
    After a visit to the church and the impressive Romanesque crypt of San Baronto, the walk will take place partially on the ridge path immersed in chestnut and pine forests to discover some of the most beautiful views and then head back to the village of San Baronto with a ring route.
  • Thursday, June 29 at 5 p.m.
    The walk will feature one of the historical-artistic jewels of our territory, Villa Rospigliosi, surrounded by a lush Italian garden, which will be reached on foot from Lamporecchio.
