Tours

A 13-kilometer walking route to discover “Little Jerusalem” in an area dense with thousands of years of history

Pitigliano, is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Nicknamed the “little Jerusalem”, it stands imposingly on the tufa cliffs of the valleys of the Lente, Meleta and Prochio streams, dominating the wild nature of this part of the Tuscan Maremma.

A territory inhabited since the Neolithic period: the Etruscans began the building of the Vie Cave, ancient communication routes carved into the tuffaceous rock that we will cover with our itinerary. Through the splendid Via Selciata we will admire the profile of Pitigliano from an unusual perspective before reaching the Londini waterfall and the Via Cava Annunziata.

We will continue our journey through the Vie Cave of San Giuseppe and its Necropolis, the Via Cava di Fratenuti and the Via Cava di Poggio Cani for a full immersion in these extraordinary engineering works with which the Etruscans were able to shape the history of the landscape. We will not fail to conclude our trek through the historic streets of Pitigliano for a unique and complete experience.

The tour will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025 with departure at 9:30 am.
