Gorgona an exclusive spot in Tuscany

It is the smallest and northernmost of the islands of the Archipelago. Unlike the famous Alcatraz, Gorgona embodies the ideal of re-educational detention, with traditional agricultural activities and a sort of pet therapy, with the animals considered to all intents and purposes cooperators of the custodial treatment. 

The social program inaugurated in 2022, carries forward the project which believes in the possibility that tourism can also contribute to the re-education of prisoners, entrusting them with the guidance of groups of visitors. 

Since the island is entirely included within the prison, it is NOT possible to move individually or disembark cameras, cell phones or cameras, which will be collected before disembarkation. Sneakers required for the excursion. 

We will leave with coach bus from Cecina towards Livorno where we will embark, the expected arrival on the island is around 10:00.  

We will begin the visit after a short logistical stop. At lunchtime we will settle down in the shade for a picnic lunch and at the end we will continue the visit to the marina where, weather permitting , we will be able to take a nice dip in the crystal clear waters of the island. 

At the end we will embark on the return journey.
