Eight-day tour by bike along Tuscany to discover culture and landscape visiting ancient villages and tasting delicious food and wines

On all our tours, the emphasis is always on enjoyment, not physical endurance. Our new introduction of electric hybrid bikes allows even those taking their first cycling holiday to enjoy the rolling Tuscan hills easily. As the only cycling operator working exclusively in Tuscany,  we’re proud to say our local knowledge is unsurpassed.   • Stay overnight in Lucca’s beautifully preserved 15th-century medieval town, Tuscany’s hidden gem!
  • Stay overnight in Montecatini Terme, a lovely small baroque spa town, and visit Montecatini Alto with its stunning views and medieval setting
  • Enjoy many local cuisines and wine from agriturismo’s overnight stays
  • Visit Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo di Vinci
  • The programme is flexible: you can decide to skip Vinci or San Miniato. It all depends on the distance you wish to cycle for a day
  • Visit and stay overnight in San Gimignano and Siena, both stunning medieval towns
  • Using secondary roads, you immerse yourself at a much slower pace to enjoy the delights of the countryside, its villages, towns and people
  • A list of places to enjoy a coffee break and lunch can be provided so you can maximise your Tuscan experience
  • Chill out on your final night in Siena in the famous Piazza del Campo and enjoy a well-earned glass of Chianti Classico!

The price below is based on two persons travelling together and sharing the same room.

The bikes supplied are hybrid touring bikes; you can request a supplement electric hybrid bike or carbon racing bike.

  • Seven nights accommodation on a bed and buffet breakfast basis
  • Vinci agriturismo offer wine and olive oil tasting as they produce their own wine and olive oil
  • Deliver two hybrid bikes to Lucca
  • Rental of two hybrid bikes, helmets and water bottle & puncture kit provided
  • Collect two hybrid bikes in Siena
  • Luggage service included for 5 or 6 times depending on overnight stops
  • Specially created GPS routes for each day, which can be downloaded to your iPhone or Garmin with locations indicated for coffee and lunch stops and places of interest along the way
  • Knowledge and insight of the area to give you the best experience of a Tuscany bike holiday

  • Pisa or Florence airport transfer to Lucca or Siena, which can be booked and added to the cost of the tour.

Plan

  • Day 1: arrive in Lucca, a beautiful medieval walled town, the home of Puccini, with daily concerts. There are many restaurants & cafes to enjoy an evening stroll around 4 km of the walled town.
  • Day 2: from Lucca to Pisa, cycle to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and then back to Lucca
  • Day 3: from Lucca to Montecatini Terme, with a relaxing stay with alfresco bars and restaurants to choose from.
  • Day 4: Montecatini Terme to Vinci. Cycle through vineyards and olive groves to the birthplace of Leonardo di Vinci. Stay in a family-run Agriturismo offering a typical Tuscany menu.
  • Day 5: from Vinci to the historic hilltop town of San Miniato
  • Day 6: cycle to San Gimignano, a beautiful historic hilltop walled town (UNESCO World Heritage site) famous for its many towers.
  • Day 7: from San Gimignano to Siena (UNESCO World Heritage site), a stunning medieval town, which hosts the Palio di Siena horse race.

If you confirm the booking, it will be full payment if departure is within 3 months of departure. Outside of 3 months 50% non-refundable deposit is payable.
