The Pisan stops on the medieval road have been pilgrimage destinations since the Middle Ages, and today pilgrims can enjoy nature and priceless treasures left by man as they continue their walk. This is rich zone from a historical-cultural point of view, with the via Francigena crossing primarily through the territories of San Miniato and Castelfranco di Sotto. A visit to the castle in Galleno, the archeological museum in Castelfranco di Sotto and the fortress in San Miniato, boasting a splendid view, are all must-see sites.
