River trekking: a unique adventure in the Straits of Giaredo

The Straits of Giaredo are splendid canyons located in Lunigiana, between the territories of Pontremoli and Zeri. This spectacular place is part of a SIC that extends for 250 hectares (Site of Community Importance for its geological and naturalistic value).

It is a river trekking activity (not to be confused with canyoning or canyoning): an exploration on foot of the Gordana stream. For this reason it is also suitable for those who have no experience in rivers and for children, the only requirement is to know how to swim. 

The excursion starts from the small village of Cavezzana Gordana, we will walk along the river bed for about 20 minutes, until we reach the entrance to the canyon. 

We will explore the Straits walking in and out of the water, swimming through some crystalline pools , surrounded by nature between impressive gorges and multicolored walls over 20 meters high. 

The tours are scheduled: 
May, June, September: from Friday to Sunday 
July and August: every day (the excursion may be canceled in case of bad weather or a change in the water level) 

Highly recommended equipment (participants without the necessary material will not be admitted): sports trekking or tennis shoes with grip soles (sandals, shoes with smooth soles or rock shoes not accepted), socks / socks, swimsuit, towel, spare clothes.

  May - June - September: € 35 adults, € 20 children 6-14 years 
  July - August: € 40 adults, € 25 children 6-14 years
