"Orto di Donna" and the wild Apuan

The valley "Orto di Donna" is an authentic wild jewel set at the northern borders of the Apuan chain.

We will take a spectacular loop excursion admiring two of the most coveted peaks in these areas: Pisanino and Pizzo d'Uccello. We will go up the valley along rocky and grassy paths arriving at the Orto di Donna Refuge, a historic and fascinating garrison of the Tuscan Alps!

From here we will reach the Foce di Giovo, one of the most beautiful and spectacular places in our region: we will be in front of the calcareous pyramid of the Pizzo d'Uccello and on the other side of the valley, the king of the Apuan Alps, the Monte Pisanino.

Then we will go to the descent, which at times will be steep and bumpy, to reach the quarry below.

Length: 7 km; Difference in height: 600mt+; Duration of the excursion: 5h
The excursion is suitable for hikers with good physical preparation. The path is steep and at times bumpy uphill and downhill. It is recommended for those who do not suffer from vertigo and are familiar with the alpine environment.

Clothing and equipment: Trekking shoes, layered hiking clothing, rain jacket, poles or sticks (optional), daily backpack, packed lunch, drinking water at least 1.5 litres, hat.

• The price of the excursion decreases as the number of participants increases and, in case, it will be reimbursed to you the greater expense incurred
