"The festival of festivals": 9 international festivals for cinema lovers

The 50 Days of Cinema in Florence is "The festival of festivals" that brings cinema, in all its variety and splendor, to the city between October and December.

An intense program, which holds together important and historic international festivals, for 50 days of culture, art, events, previews, meetings with directors and actors.

These festivals featured in the 2022 edition:

  • FánHuā Cinese Film Festival
    A look at contemporary China.
  • Middle East Now
    Previews, but also exhibitions, events, presentations, talks with festival protagonists and food moments.
  • Florence Queer Festival
    The most important Tuscan festival dedicated to Queer culture.
  • France Odeon
    Premieres of the best French cinema, the most representative films of transalpine film production, international guests, actors, cultural personalities, directors and screenwriters.
  • Festival dei Popoli - International Documentary Film Festival
    The most important International Documentary Film Festival in Italy and the oldest in Europe.
  • Lo Schermo dell'Arte
    Film and contemporary art festival.
  • Festival Internazionale di Cinema e Donne
    Women-directed cinema.
  • Premio N.I.C.E. Città di Firenze
    The award that each year concludes the international journey of N.I.C.E. Festival, the festival that has been promoting the city of Florence, the Region of Tuscany, its territory and its culture for more than 20 years.
  • River to River Florence Indian Film Festival
    Born in 2001 in Florence, it was the first festival outside India totally dedicated to Indian cinema.
