Gay-friendly beaches along the coast

The stretch of coast that travels from the municipality of Carrara to Viareggio and the city of Torre del Lago is one of the hottest summer destinations in Italy among both Italian and foreign tourists. The clean waters, manicured beaches and great climate make the Versilia an attractive holiday spot for the young and old, singles and families. In addition to days spent sitting on the beach soaking in the rays, the nightlife also offer lots of variety, from eateries to discos, pubs to beach bars.

But that's not all: the results of a survey conducted in 2010 online at the site Gay.it reveal that gay men and lesbians from Italy also chose Torre del Lago as their top holiday destination in the summer.
