Tuscany Crossing is the 100km long road race through the Val d'Orcia Natural Park (Siena province) in Tuscany, a UNESCO world heritage site, taking place on April 26, 2015. It’s a 103 km long ultra marathon trail on roads crossed by pilgrims for centuries like the Via Romea, the Via Cassia and the Via Francigena. You will cross the historical medieval villages of Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia and Pienza, where amazing wines are produced; towns full of charm like Sant'Antimo and the thermal town of Bagno Vignoni. If 100 km is too much for you, you can choose within other races: the 53 km (individual), the 32 km (individual) and the 4x25 km (group). The path through the woods and, vineyards crosses the river Orcia four times and arrives in Montalcino after 25 km. Passing on the Amiata side, the path continues through Sant'Antimo and Castelnuovo Abate, then returns to Castiglione D'Orcia at the 50th km. It continues towards Pienza across the land “of wind and desert,” and after 75 km crosses San Quirico D'Orcia, then Bagno Vignoni with its thermal waters and the final stretch reaches Rocca d'Orcia, with the finish line. This is the third edition of Tuscany Crossing and till April 6 there is the possibility to join in for the races at a reduced price: 103 km (60€+3,50€ for Paypal commission), the 53 km (50€+3,50€), the 32 km (18€+3,50€) and the Tuscany Crossing 4x25 km (100€+3,50€).
