The zucchini (pronounced /zʊˈkiːni/, plural: zucchini or zucchinis; from Italian: zucchina, plural: zucchine) or courgette plural: courgettes) is a popularly cultivated summer squash. Right now in Tuscany this is certainly the most popular and abundant veg you'll find.
So here's my list of recipes for this week's tuscan cart.
- Fried zucchini blossoms. You don't necessarily have to fry those blossoms alone you can add the sliced zucchini, by dipping them into the best batter and frying!
- Scarpaccia ( a zucchini sweet and savoury pie)
- You can also use the fried frittata method with zucchini of course!
- Zucchini Pasta Sauce
- Zucchini flan with basil sauce (a recipe by Arturo Dori)
