If you check out the 2020 program, you’ll find that the first ride is scheduled on March 29 from Grosseto to San Giovanni d'Asso where is held the spring truffle fair "Mostra Mercato del Tartufo Marzuolo".
On April 13 the Nature train departs from Asciano and stop in Buonconvento, where you can enjoy the antiques market throughout the streets. There you can visit the museo d’Arte Sacra (museum of sacred art) and the museo della mezzadria (sharecrop museum). Along this journey you can admire the Val d’Orcia, Unesco World Heritage Site since 2004, the hills of the Brunello di Montalcino wine and the Crete Senesi.
On April 25 the journey will take you to Monte Antico and and then (by bus) to Castiglione d'Orcia. On the next day, the destination will be San Quirico d’Orcia where the Orcia wine festival takes place every year.
On May 1 you can spend a very pleasant labor day at the traditional festival of Sant’Angelo Scalo, surrounded by music, market stands and good food. Folk bands will perform in the afternoon along the streets, where an outdoor country market will be set up.
On May 10 you will travel across Val d’Arbia and Valle dell’Ombrone. The tour will bring you to a special event scheduled in Asciano, with food specialities like the pecorino cheese from the Crete and the precious local honey. Stands will display the renowned typical products along the main street in a special edition of the Crete’s market. There you can also visit the Museo di Arte Sacra, the Museo Etrusco and the Museo Cassioli.
On May 17 in occasion of the train fest and its market, the tour touches Torrenieri, an old village along the Via Francigena.
On June 2, the train will stop in Trequanda where you can go trekking in the Crete Senesi with a guide.
