Not only skiing in Tuscany: 3 ideas to have fun on the snow

From snowshoeing to full moon parties

When the first flakes fall and all the facilities are open, skiing is not the only sport to do in the mountains of Tuscany: there are so many activities for all those who are tired of skiing and want to enjoy the nature in winter in a different way.

Mount Amiata

On the Mount Amiata you can try snowshoeing, that is hiking with snowshoes on the snow, a really wild experience. On Saturdays and Sundays you can go on a walking tour in the snowy beech forests, in the quiet of the white woods, and finish the walk in the mountain dews, enjoying a lunch with traditional products of Mount Amiata. Lunigiana

Snowboarders will find a paradise in the Lunigiana area of Tuscany: in Zum Zeri, near to the border with Emilia Romagna Region, there is one of the largest Snow Park of Italy, where you can enjoy the snow in complete safety. Moreover, the view is truly unique from the highest point in the area at an altitude of 1600 meters, so beautiful that you can see the shine of the Ligurian Sea at the horizon.

Abetone

On the Abetone, from December to March, every full moon Saturday there is a very special event: the Full Moon Party. It’s a big party that starts at 19 at the mountain dew, whit-l dinner and good music. Then it’s time to go down to the slopes lit by moonlight and bright gadgets given to the participants. The night continues with a big party at the disco.
